From meetings, workshops, and conferences to events and socials, UCR Future Business Leaders of America-PBL is a place where you can grow as a driven individual and make the most out of your college experience! Our meetings and workshops are meant to put members in real-life scenarios to prepare for their career, and our events and socials are created to develop connections and bring our family closer.
Furthermore, UCR FBLA is not simply another school organization that brings you workshops and lectures that you can get anywhere else. Instead, as an organization we believe in Unlocking Your Potential, and we aim to help you achieve what you want by pushing you to take action and start with your personal growth. What do you do at your meetings?
Our meetings are different every single week! We will sometimes have professional-centered meetings such as interview or resume workshops, or we can switch it up to activities that really focus on gearing each member to better knowing themselves. We believe that the first step to success is through being a leader in your own life, and that comes from confidence in yourself and your goals. The officer team works hard to make sure that each meeting is beneficial to every member – and we promise to always keep it fun and interesting! What kind of events do you have?
Our most frequent events are socials/fundraisers that happen right after our Wednesday meetings – these make up those special moments that give FBLA such a familial feel. Other than that, UCR FBLA holds its' very own Gala and Banquet. Our chapter also participates in State Fall Business Leadership Conference and State Spring Business Leadership Conference. However, our most popular events have to be our seasonal retreats – Snowrific and Spring retreat! What do you do at State Conferences?
Two main things: compete and network! There is a huge number of categories in which you can compete – either as an individual or in a group – and there's a category for everyone. Conferences take place over the course of a weekend and provide great ways to connect with members from other chapters, keynote speakers, and the competition judges – and any of these people can provide you with the key to your next working opportunity. If you're looking for a challenge and a guaranteed learning experience, attend a conference! |
What are the ways I can be involved in UCR FBLA?
Committees, Mentor-Mentee Program, General Member Program, socials, and so much more! UCR FBLA-PBL offers much more than just weekly meetings which provide an opportunity to be able to make more significant connections within our FBLA family. Other than the programs and events we host, your attendance matters! If you want to make the most out of your FBLA experience and learn the most that you can, we encourage you to come out! How do you help members develop professionalism?
Although we put on the occasional professional workshop meetings, the best kind of help is personalized help. We provide one-on-one feedback based on your performance from workshops and activities we hold. Our officers are also very committed to your growth and will even personally accompany you to a career fair or lend their time in order to help you out! Our officers are always happy to look over your resume or help you prep for an upcoming interview. To help our members even more, we offer a Mentor-Mentee Program so that you can have an even closer connection to someone who will encourage you and guide you through whatever journey you may choose to take. We love answering questions!
